||Human Resources Specialist
Intercity Transit is the municipal agency that provides public
transportation for people who live and work in the WA state capitol of Olympia
and surrounding communities. Services include bus routes, paratransit,
vanpools, specialized van programs, and active community partnerships.

Transit is currently recruiting for two fulltime positions of Human Resources Specialist. The
Specialists perform administrative,
technical, and clerical coordination and support of human resources functions
that include recruitment and selection, classification and compensation,
employment changes, employee leaves, new-hire processing and onboarding, and
mandatory reporting and posting. Specialists back each other up during
absences, and also back up Analysts. Excellent benefits include health
insurance, PERS and deferred comp retirement plans, and paid sick and vacation
leave. Wage range is $51,140 to $69,029 annually.
- Develop databases and tracking systems and perform data
entry to facilitate HR operations and programs.
- Support recruitment and selection processes, to include
job advertising, interview scheduling, background and reference checks, and new-hire
- Coordinate, track and support tuition reimbursement
program and other employee benefits programs.
- Prepare and maintain HR procedures, policies and rules; establish
and maintain personnel records and forms; and comply with legal records
- Perform administrative support for HR to include mail,
photocopying, data entry, confidential correspondence, letters, reports and
forms; respond to inquiries from staff, management, and public.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

deadlines, pay strong attention to detail, and have excellent follow-through.
record of providing exceptional customer service in every interaction; ability
to cultivate collaborative and productive working relationships.
to advanced skills in Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook.
in accurately manipulating and analyzing numbers and data in multiple formats,
along with identifying and correcting data errors.
of employment and labor laws.
in providing full range of administrative and clerical support.
years of increasingly responsible human resources support experience; an equivalent
combination of education and experience may be considered.
be willing to submit to a criminal background investigation, the results of
which must meet the agency’s hiring criteria.
