The Hospital of Saint Raphael, a 500 bed-community tertiary care academic health center and teaching hospital with an employee population of over 4,000 located in New Haven, Connecticut has an opportunity for a Benefits Specialist.
In this position, you will serve as a primary point of contact for matters pertaining to the SRHS health and welfare program including health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, and FSA plans. Working extensively with insurance carriers, vendors and others to ensure prompt and accurate resolution of issues or concerns; counseling and educating employees on all health insurance plans; and monitoring changes to enrollment and administration of required corrections to payroll deductions. You will also be responsible for the coordination and oversight of benefits awarded during special situations including court orders, severance periods, and qualifying event changes and monitoring the accuracy of communication materials specific to health plans both in print and online. |
| Requirements |
The successful applicant will have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related coursework or attainment of comparable HR/benefit administration certificate program, along with 3-5 years’ Human Resources experience with a focus on benefits administrations preferred. Strong customer service and communications skills required as well as knowledge of health and welfare benefit plans.
