Jarden Corporation is seeking a Payroll Coordinator, in our Boca Raton, FL corporate office to perform the following job functions:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Compile payroll data from timesheets and other time-keeping systems including preparation of computer input forms and data entry as needed. Reconcile totals by batches in payroll system.
- Responsible for high-volume check printing, automated sealing of envelopes and the distribution
- Review interface and ensure the accuracy of the payroll information entered by Human Resources
- Set up one-time and other types of compensation payments (e.g., housing allowances, project bonuses).
- Calculate and ensure retro payments and reimbursements, and ensures that adjustment deductions are completed and accurate.
- Responsible for the payroll processing of terminations including obtaining correct deductions, unused vacation days, etc.
- Assist with interpreting and communicating company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures to employees as needed.
- Prepare periodic statistical reports and issue manual paychecks when needed.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for employee deductions. Also prepares check requests for all payroll related deduction remittances (e.g., child support, garnishees, United Way, etc.).
- Assist Payroll Director with payroll journal entries and related payroll account analysis and reconciliation.
- Assist Payroll Director with all payroll tax related state registrations and terminations of accounts.
- Assist with Quarterly reports, reconciliation and the input of annual State unemployment tax rates into PeopleSoft.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business or related field preferred
- Two (2) to four (4) years experience in HR or Accounting
- CPP of FPC Certification preferred.
- Must have previous hands-on experience with payroll processing and payroll tax filing
- PeopleSoft experience preferred.
- Must be extremely accurate and detail-oriented
- Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Must be comfortable with maintaining confidentiality of highly confidential data
