City of Rincon Finance Department
The Finance Director is responsible for directing
the financial operations for the City of Rincon to include payroll processing,
accounts payable, banking relationships, monthly financial reports, annual
audit report, and the ability to create spreadsheets. Knowledge of the principles and practices of
governmental accounting preferred or ability to obtain the Local Finance
Officer Certification for levels one and two.
Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, including major course work in
accounting with the minimum of three to five years of municipal finance
preferred, but not required. Prefer
individual with knowledge of municipal auditing principals, knowledge of City
budgetary policies, knowledge of relevant local, state and federal regulations
and skilled in developing long and short range plans. Ability to be bonded.
Supervises and directs
work assignments, conducts annual performance appraisals and trains staff. Must be knowledgeable in financial computer
software. Possess ability to resolve
problems and make independent decisions. Experienced in gathering and analyzing complex data, and operating standard
Salary will be
commensurate with experience.
