Experience

Responsibilities:        (11.5 years of direct HR experience)  

  • Performed Regional Office Level Personnel duties by providing support to over 150 staff, the Regional and Deputy Administrators, and Administrative Assistant.  I provided consultation and interpretations resolution   to management, staff and private sector inquiries utilizing various state resources such as Merit System Rules, Personnel Policies, Labor Relations, Collective Bargaining Agreements, ADA Policies, WMS Rules and HRMS E-Recruiting and Payroll processes. Have applied ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, Worker’s compensation, WA WAC/RCW rules interpretations. Experienced in Unionized environment.
  • Identified recruitment needs with supervisors, upper management, Human Resource Division Office and initiated process via e-recruiting and prepared recruitment and justification documents for local and State office review. Assisted in development of Position Descriptions-Essential Job Functions and utilized position action request forms and related documents. Acted as Regional Liaison to L&I Risk Management, Academy Training, Work-study, and HRDIS Trainings as the coordinator for each representing the region.  
  • Provided support to State Offices such as DAO, HRD Personnel & EEO and Reasonable Accommodations Unit. I assisted in identifying Labor Relation and Grievance issues as needed and prepared various local and state office statistical reports using Excel, Access and Word software.
  • Performed payroll maintenance and provided applicable interpretations and applications of Bargaining Agreements, Leave Usage, FMLA, Medical/Dental Insurance, Retirement, and Deferred Compensation benefit program entitlements for staff and management.  Intermediate level software usage of OUTLOOK, EXCEL, WORD, CAMIS, ACCESS, HRIS/HRMS, CITRIX/SAP applications.

Completed Accounting & Computer Sciences program during period from 9/1976-6/1978 through Highline Community College in Des Moines, WA.   Associate of Arts Degree
